HI,

iam from germany and since yesterday i own and play arma 2.
very buggy sometimes (pachtes will help), but awesome game i love it!

...only my good freetrack system doesnt work. Nothing happens when i start arma. Under options the game accepts "trackIR" and some trackir owners told me that they have no problems.
i dont expect much help because the game isnt released in other countrys...but maybe someone has an idea?

Arma 2 use "new Track IR" interface -  Freetrack seem to be not compatible with it !

Emulation is the only way for the moment !  :gene:

We have included an SDK in last freetrack release, for developpers who want to made our game freetrack client compatible ...
But if they didn't want to use them, we can't do nothing ...

They won't patch it. The whole point of the new system is to get us to throw out our homemade setups and fork over cash to buy "real" TrackIR from Natural Point. It's a monopoly!

What we really have to do is CRACK IT!  :pirate:

Although BlackShark used StarForce, the exe was not encrypted, making a fix straightforward.

ArmA2 uses SecuROM copy protection and the exe is encrypted/compressed so it is not so straightforwad.

There is a nocd for ArmA2 with a decrypted/decompressed exe which could be fixed in the same manner as BlackShark. But then you are forced into the pirate world, not being able to use the latest patch until it is cracked, not being able to play online and potential FADE activation.

Well, I'll be getting the Steam version and hopefully that doesn't have SecuROM. So maybe atleast some of us can get around it with a fixed DLL?

Let's revive this topic... when someone is going to put a good fix here, like they did for blackshark?
