so, yea.

can't move my head side to side (X), up and down (Y) and backwards and forwards (Z) without it going outside the cockpit like i've warped through space and time

... i've tried reducing 'range' to 0.2 for everything with max smoothing in the x, y, z.

How does one (if at all possible) limit the amount of "x,y,z" movement inside the cockpit?

Currently I can only play by disabling the x y z translational movement. And I really want to use it for hovering  B)

Otherwise freetrack is a beautiful gem, thanks to all involved in the project.

God bless.

A bug with the game. With a fix to be released by MS Dev?

Any word on the lead time for the patch release? Just curious.

No, there is a bug in FreeTrack which only occurs with FSX.
A patch for FreeTrack will be released to correct the problem your fighting with.

Is the FreeTrack 2.2.0.279 update said to resolve an 'fsx' issue going to fix the X Y Z movement?

I have the x52 pro flight controller, and I'm still sitting on the fence as to what setup to use for head tracking.  I am eagerly anticipating panning, tilting, and changing eye position with head motion- but I'm wondering if zooming manually might be more comfortable:  I happen to be a pilot IRL, and I don't normally shuckle much, while flying real planes.

From what I've learned so far (strictly vicariously here, and watching youtube videos) I'm wondering if using a handy slider to do the zooming (the x-52 has a gazillion wheels and sliders) would be better for the zooming bit, instead of rocking back and forth.

I'm wondering what any VR aviators here think.

Well, my post above was just ignorant (didn't have all my hardware working right when I wrote it).  Now that I'm wiii-lly using FreeTrack with FSX, I use all 6dof a lot, and it's very intuitive.  In the best virtual cockpits, I poke a lot of switches by leaning into them and using the mouse on my x52(pro) throttle.  I may need to strap in a little tighter in the real planes, to keep my FT/FSX habits from creeping into my real-world flying!

I am convinced that using FreeTrack really does effectively reinforce what I'm always telling my flying students:  Keep Your Head On A Swivel.
