Ok I patched to 1.2 and still no go. The game only works if I rename NPClient.dll to something else. Otherwise, all I get is a black screen when I click the game exe.

I think there's nothing else we can do about it. If you have any more ideas please let me know.

What's your OS?
Are your running in administrator mode?
Try disabling any virus/firewall security apps that you may have running.

I have XP Pro with SP2 and I have disabled all my security software. No firewall/anti-virus/spyware.

I tried to use the NPClient.dll (v3.2.30.0, I think) but Free-Track won't run with version

I had the exact same trouble with Falcon4.0. I tried everything post here with the same results. The game would only run when Free Track was removed or the NPCLIENT.DLL was renamed.

As a last resort I uninstalled Falcon, rebooted my PC, and reinstalled Falcon.  IT WORKED.

I never altered any of the settings in Free Track or Falcon, the game runs and Free Track works inside the game.

I hope you have the same result, Good Luck.

I had already tried a fresh install. I thought I hosed my Falcon OF install so I uninstalled, deleted the directory, rebooted, and reinstalled. No luck. Today I spent time removing processes to see if I could get it to run. What I found so far is that the wirelesscm.exe file is causing the problem.

This file is needed for my D-Link wireless network card. I don't know what my next step is yet . . .

Update:
I uninstalled my D-Link Wireless drivers and reinstalled without letting windows automaticaly install the drivers after the reboot. I then opened device manager and right clicked on the wireless card and selected "Update Drivers" and pointed to the folder where I unzipped the file from D-Link. This forces Windows to use the "Wireless Zero Config" process. All is working at this point . . .

Hello. Excuse me for revive this old post but it is the only thread I´ve found for my problem which is exactly the same: game only starts if NPClient is renamed. In my case I try to run rFactor's game. My FreeTrack version is 2.2.0.279. Anyone has any idea please?. Thank you and bye.
