Hi to everybody and many thanks for your wonderful software.
I've played with Cam2Pan, Freelook and, now, FreeTrack that is working perfectly with IL2 in mouse emulation with a Philips TouchCam Pro II and a single led. It is very simple to configure with respect to the other two softwares. The only item where Fleelook gives me a better response is the Fiel of View: In Il2 I'm not able to see in the rear angles of the canopy (eg. no more than the wings). Maybe it is matter of setting properly FreeTrack. I've tried to modify the FOV in IL2 , sensivity and response curbes in FreeTrack, but it seems to me that these parameters are mostly related with the response speed, while my task is to increase the maximum output rotation angles. Is there anyone who can give me a suggestion about this question? Thak you again for your work: so many simmers will enjoy it! Flashsim |

Make sure the right-most point of each response curve is as far right as possible, this controls the maximum limit for each axis. Freetrack v2.0 has a maximum of +/- 160 degrees, the next version will be +/- 180 degrees, but you should still have a good rear view at 160 degrees.

I got the very same problem, I think it´s caused from the LED, not from the camera. When the LED is at angle almost disappears from screen. I think I need wide angle LEDs or an IR lamp and reflectors on my head. I will try the first option next week and if not ok I´ll try the second one.

Il2 have full Track-Ir support and Freetrack works like TIR .
Check conf.ini [rts] ..... trackIRUse=1 ..... Then use Freetrack in TIr mode and enjoy !!! |

As a first aid you may try to sand the LEDs. In most cases it will give enough angle for the LEDs. Also, you may try to increase the current in the LED circuit. I had problems at first when I used too much resistance with the LEDs (120ohm for 3 volts is not good, 82 ohms works fine). However, you must be careful not to roast the LEDs. |

Well, that is what I done. I modded the cam as shown in another thread in this forum. I mean I took off the ir filter and put the negative in. My cam now pics up the ir LED PERFECTLY, absolutely PERFECTLY, I mean that. From every angle, no flickering, just one red point with a just one white cross. The problem though remains. I just can´t look beyond the end of the wings far right and far left in IL2:46.
I´m using the rFactor profile (dunno why, I just couldn´t make a new one) and I got the mouse output set. The game spesific Sensitivity is set to 60 for yaw and pitch, the average at 4. At rotation and translation curves I put the first dot at 10-10, the second at 20-160 and the third at 50-160. At global axis adjustments I got the sensitivity at 88. It works just perfectly in Freetrack, I can look everywhere, every single angle. But as I use in game the field of view is becoming narrower, at far right/left I can see just my flaps. I also turned the TrackIR use at 1 in the conf.ini but I can´t say if anything´s changed, I saw no difference. So what can I do at this situation?? Are the game profiles of v.1 compatible with the v.2 ones?? Will it be a IL2 profile to download soon? Maybe someone got any tips or changes to do at my current profile? Any will be good, I thank you in advance...... |

Il2 will work fine with Rfactor profile , but DO NOT USE mouse emulation ,Il2 works well with Track Ir Native mode !
1dot il2 profile [Sensitivity] Yaw=81 Pitch=84 Roll=71 X=100 Y=100 Z=100 [Deadzone] Yaw=100 Pitch=100 Roll=100 X=100 Y=100 Z=100 Zooming=20 [Inverted] Yaw=0 Pitch=0 Roll=0 X=0 Y=0 Z=0 [YawCfg] X0=0 Y0=102 X1=2 Y1=58 X2=75 Y2=64 X3=320 Y3=2 [PitchCfg] X0=0 Y0=100 X1=2 Y1=57 X2=73 Y2=60 X3=320 Y3=2 [RollCfg] X0=0 Y0=102 X1=6 Y1=81 X2=56 Y2=57 X3=162 Y3=1 [XCfg] X0=0 Y0=102 X1=2 Y1=48 X2=233 Y2=93 X3=320 Y3=2 [YCfg] X0=0 Y0=102 X1=11 Y1=47 X2=219 Y2=101 X3=320 Y3=2 [ZCfg] X0=0 Y0=102 X1=2 Y1=82 X2=156 Y2=44 X3=290 Y3=2 [Mouse] Enabled=0 [Output] Mouse=0 Joystick=0 TIR=1 [Defaults] Average=1 With 3 or 4 dot you may modify Average settings ..

C6 I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! I think the problem was the mouse output. I turned the TIR output on instead and it works just wonderful, absolutely marvelous. You made an old man happy my friend!!!!:D I have to say the support in this forum is more than outstanding and this software is just a wonder!!!! I will dive now at the secrets of WW2 fighter adventures, once again THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
