Hello to all,
first post for me here.

In these day i put my notebook near TV and use it as mediacenter.

Now i've the problem to give input to it. I think to buy mediacenter
remote control but want to avoid another remote (i've 4)

is possible to track an existing remote control (maybe 'unused' SAT)
to simultate mouse movements on screen ?

If yes, any solution/idea to simulate left click (more point to track...)

Remote control LEDs flash, so tracking them produces jumpy results, they're also narrowly focused so they cannot be seen if rotated a small amount.

The Wiimote works well because the camera is in the remote so a small rotation is easily detected. Doing it the other way round with the camera facing away from the TV is tricky for normal viewing distances because the remote needs to move through a reasonable percentage of the camera frame to get any sort of practical tracking resolution. I can imagine this would require swinging your arm around... a lot.  

For the mouse click, you could try using dwell click software that simulates a mouse click when the cursor remains stationary for some time.

but i want to lose a bit of time ...  

If i build a 'baton' ( sort of magic wand) with IR led on top to avoid swinging your arm around,
and power it with continuos power (so I can avoid Remote control LEDs flashing) can move mouse in your opinion ?


I see also that wiimote will be supported, but we need to add some IR leds around, or movements are
based only on bluetooth protocol ? (i've wiimote)
