What rough dimentions should a clip model be? I've seen various different sizes and also read that the size depends on your distance from the screen etc but what are some good dimentions?

I think vertically, it should be about 1/3rd the height of your camera frame, so take a Yard/Meterstick, place your camera where it would be for FT, place the stick beside your face, and see if you can figure it out.

That's what I heard at least.

i think this is one of the most popular Questions. Maybe someone could make a diagram or something like that with the best geometry of the 3 LED's and how to figure out the propper dimension.

I think that would be something for the FAQ's.

Once i have some dimentions i can make up some templates/a tutorial on how to make a good clip style point model. I plan on using brass tubing, bending it and running the wires through it which should turn out far neater a sturdier than many of the ones i have seen.

Sounds very similar to my planned Design
But i try to get aluminium insted of brass because of the weight. But it is hard to find.

I dunno, I find that the coat hangar method is best, that's what I use, I run the ground through the actual hangar, and use a really thin wire(the shield from a USB cable) as my other.
Then I encase it all in a 3/16ths inch Heatshrink - that I don't shrink.
