I installed FreeTrack,  but when I launch it, appears an error message, 2 times:

Posted Image

if I try to change some settings, the message will re-appear.

If I try to start the webcam, FreeTrack crashes.

I use Windows XP, the cam is a Logitech QuickCam Express.

I've got MSI motherboard with AMD Athlon XP processor, running at 1.25 GHz; 512 MB DDR400 of RAM.

Please help me...

I think it could be two problems :

- Your Webcam driver is not a WDM ?

- You have an application that already use your Webcam (like MSN Messenger or other) ?

Have you lasted directx version installed ?

Do you have a motherboard with VIA Chipset ?(because for VIA Motherbord you must install chipset driver to work correctly :

)

Thank you,

- My Cam is a Logitech QuickCam Express, I don't know if its drivers are WDM (what's wdm?)

However the problems appears as I start the application.

- My MotherBoard is MSI KT3-ULTRA2R

The chipset is: VIA KT333

- I installed the last version of DX linked on freetrack site.

I will update my chipse's drivers

Hy,
I updated the chipsets drivers but FreeTrack v2.0 still doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Is it possible to do a debug version of the v2.0 wich can provide an output log file, so I can send this log file to the programmer?

Thanks,
Carlo

Off line Www

What is your PC configuration and OS version (SP?)
Type of motherboard, Video ....
drivers version ?
WEBCAM Type , driver version?

Have you try both filters (by default SSE Filter is enable, have you try with MMX Filter ...)

Have a nice day,

thank you babasior,

- My MotherBoard is MSI KT3-ULTRA2R

The chipset is: VIA KT333 (the chipset's driver was updated from your link - http://www.viaarena.com)

- I installed the last version of DX linked on freetrack site.

- Video card (drivers updated from your link - http://www.viaarena.com) is nVidia GeForce 6200

- CPU is AMD Athlon XP 1.25 GHz

- OS is Windows XP

I tried FreeTrack v1.1 and works, but with vertical bars problem

- my cam is Logitech QuickCam Express

I tried to install the filter from your site (the filter to fix the bars problem) and while installing it I did some mistakes, and when I launched FreeTrack v1.1 appeared the same error dialog; so I understood that the problem was the filter.

Then, I tried to use the MMX filter (when I understood this, you finally replied me with the same conseil : D ).

Now It works!

Can I know something more about the filters?

Please remain in contact with me because I want to do the traslation of FreeTrack (program, Site and manula) in Italian, and I have some projects.

Thanks!!!!!

Good to hear you got it working. : )

The next version will automatically select the best filter for your cpu.

With your 1.25Gz cpu, make  sure you select 160x120 as your webcam resolution to minimize cpu usage, also remember to minimize Freetrack before entering a game.

I had the same problem last week.
Please read http://freetrack.online.fr/forum/index.php?showtopic=76

To solve the problem, just go to the freetrack folder, edit freetrack.exe properties, click in "run as administrator". Reboot and thats all!

Celso.
