Hi,
I started the construction of a 3-point IR led tracking device.
All items were bought and the first few things are soldered together.
I bent some electric wire to use as a base for the device, but how long do the legs need to be?
Are there minimum leg lengths? Is bigger better, or will it work just as well with a small size?
Right now I have bent the wire with this dimensions:
*---4,5cm----
|
|
7cm
|
|
*--------------- to usb power supply
|
4,5cm
|
*---3cm------
Will this be big enough?
My second question involves the position of my webcam.
I play games on a laptop but my webcam can't be fitted on top of my laptop screen, so it stands next to it.
Is it possible for freetrack to track like that?
Greetz,
Niek

The ideal model size is dependent on the distance from the camera and the viewing angle of the camera lens. At the desired distance, the model should be about a third of the height and a third of the width of the camera frame, for the best compromise between rotation accuracy and translation range.
The camera can be offset a small amount but too much and it may cause problems with the translation and rotation axes blending into one another.
