Hi.
Downloaded and installed the freetrack software today.
Made a 3-point clip with 3 infrared LED:s, they are all working and are decently spaced.

Then I removed the IR filter from my webcam (brand new) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/webcams/devices/3781&cl=se,sv and covered the lens with a strip from a floppy-disc

I'm getting 3 rather big dots in freetrack but the head to the left moves with a delay of several seconds, same behaviour inside GTR2.
The FPS indicator under the black screen is fixed at 5 fps and the cpu warning comes on all the time (got a modern fast cpu & lot's of ram)

I've played a lot with the exposure-settings but nothing seems to help, at thins point it's totally unusable. The led:s are not filed flat yet.

No messenger or other cam-software running.

Grateful for all tips.
/Dan

Try changing camera settings around a little. Turn off things like auto exposure, auto gain, etc and set this kind of stuff for yourself. With my camera if my exposer is set to low then I get fps issues and whatnot.

Off line Www

Please can you tell us, wich type of OS you used, and wich type of webcam ...
Quickcam Chat from logitech, isn't it ?

Have you thinking to disable "fluo light 50Hz - 60Hz" in your webcam driver (if feature exist) ?

don't forget to have good values in "Interpolation" (look in Handbook, for good explain about this !)

Have you closed all webcam applications (like MSN Live Messenger ... or others)

Have you lasted directx 9.0c release (nov 2007 or Fev 2008) ?

Have you disable all webcam driver "auto" feature ?
(like "visionviper" suggest you)

Try to use I420 if possible (go in stream button) ...

Hi
Windows XP SP2
Newest DirectX
Logitech Quickcam as in the link in the first post
No auto settings for the camera
No webcam apps running
I420 does not work, must be RGB

I'm getting 5 fps max, if I enter very high values in exposure the fps goes up but then the tracker points dissapears.
I'll try to disable fluo light.
/Dan
