PPjoy is a major pain in my posterior, the list of crap I have to go through to get it working is longer than this page. PPjoy has a built in PPjoy output so I output to PPJoy which allows me to bind my game head movements (DCS World). It works well when it works, however its a pain to get working. Is there any other way?

Please. My wiimote is soon going to have to track me banging my head into the table. I don't want to do that to the poor thing.

https://edtracker.org.uk/index.php
https://edtracker.org.uk/index.php/using/game-support/36-dcs-world.
And Iam sure it will work much better then freetrack with a wii-mote.
Freetrack/ftoir/opentrack are ofcourse great piece of software, but for some people it is a big problem to get the right webcam and modify it if needed.
With that ed-tracker you only have a very small box on your head(set), no ir leds and no webcam needed qand no problems with lighr interfering with tracking of the leds.
The only thing what can be a problem is that it is not 6dof but only 3dof.But ther is a work around to get a better look at your "6".

I use a head mounted 3 IR LED clip that my wiimote tracks, will EDTracker work for this?

Is there anyway to output FreeTrack's movements to the TrackIR interface?  I see an option for it in output but no clue how to make it work.

making your head move in game can be done in a few ways. You can use a webcam with leds(normal or IR), facerecognition or with gyroscopic enssors(edtracker or smartphone)
This the hardware, for the software you can also choose between a few.
There is freetrack, Facetracknoir and opentrack.Freetrack is as far as I know the only one who supports a wii-mote.Facetracknoir(=ftnoir) can be use with facereconition or with a pointtracker, just the same as what freetrack uses.Opentrack is the latetest tracking software and still updated. Some game use encryption and make other ir-tracking software not workink, only the track-ir products of Natural point.I have tried it for you and I only needed to start opentrack, start DCS world and it worked directly.Ofcourse I already made some settings at the curves for my game Cliffs of Dover which I also used here. You can see it at youtube,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y8LOBizV3M&feature=youtu.be

If you want to use IR leds for tracking you need sometimes to modify your webcam. You can have problems with the surounding light what causes bad tracking.
For facetracking you must have enough light so the webcam can see you, better forget this one.Ftnoir with pointracker is just something like freetrack.
With the edtracker you only have a ver tiny box on you headset connect with a mini usb cable to your pc and as tracking software you use opentrack. If I compare Edtracker to what I have experiant with my wii-mote and webcams, that edtracker is easier to set up.The only thing is you only have pitch, yaw and roll , only 3dof instead of 6dof.

If you want to keep using your wii--mote you can only use freetrack.Iam sure it can work but with some effort.I found a post about it and at the site of trackhat is more info to find how to do it.

If you want to use ftnoir or opentrack you will need a webcam and probably need to modify it.This ofcourse can be done but is sometimes not so easy as said by others. If you want to save time and problems there is a shops who sells already modified ps3-eye, this is one of the best cams for ir-tracking.
Modifying a ps3-eye can be done but some models give problems.I also ruined my ps3-eye but found a shop where I could order a already modified ps3-eye lens and repaired it.

Thanks for the info, alternatives to freetrack may be what I'm looking for. However what I was interested in was an alternative to the bit of software that goes in between freetrack and the game.  Something that emulates joystick movements, I use ppjoy for this.

Yes, but how do I output free track info to it?

Do you use freetrack? How do you track your head movements. If you use free track how do you go from free track to game?

I used to use freetrack but started to use Ftnoir because I wanted to use a ps3-eye.In win7 you need to change the dpi-scale if you want to use freetrack, for Ftnoir this is not needed. If you want to use a ps3-eye you need a patch and sometimes freetrack has crashes.Ftnoir was in my case easier to use.In the end I just want my head being tracked and which piece of software does it doesn't matter to me.I just want to go and fly without first fixing al kind of smal things.

Yes, but how do I output free track info to it?

Normally, you just have your game installed and then install freetrack, tweak the settings/curves of freetrack and  it should work.
Sometimes UAC need to be disabled because it prevents the game and freetrack to "see"each other.
UAC= user account control
This was once a issue with someone who wanted to use freetrack with Eurotruck. On my rig it worked without any problems but he didn't get it working.
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=3538&page=1&hl=eurotruck

I use freetrack for Cliffs of Dover, a flight sim.For me it was just like installing freetrack and it worked.Ofcourse I needed to tweak somethings in freetrack to make my view ingame response the way I want.Ingame I can use F10 to go to mouse-look which I don't do ofcourse because I use ir-tracking.

I have send you a pm.
