Hello there! I need some help making a 3 point cap clip, I'm currently using FaceTrackNoIR with Facetrack but I want to make myself a proper IR cap. For a cam I've got my PS3 EYE (Seems to have no IR filter or a very weak one as it picks up my TV remote very well with no exposure and no camera negative.)

There is no hobby shop here that I can buy resistors or IR LED's at, and I live in central Canada or more specifically Manitoba. So if there's anyone that knows somewhere I can order my parts from, as well as someone that can give me some basic tips and tutorials on how to set this all up. I've taken automotive courses and understand basic electronics, so I know how to solder and how parallel and series works, just not with small electronics like resistors the LED's.

EDIT: I'd also like some help getting the right resistors and ordering them as well. I should have a soldering iron as well, but I might need some smaller solder, since the kind we have here is almost a quarter inch thick and meant for stained glass. Thanks guys!

Well, I got it built using the standard SFH485P LED's and my PS3 EYE, and honestly it works a lot better than I thought it would. Now the problem comes to how I'm going to get this thing working smoothly with my current set up. I'm not using the default dimensions because it's freaking hard to do so with a cap easily, and one issue i've noticed already is, I've got the top LED taped down right now (It's not finished, what I'm trying to do is find out where the LED's are best placed, so that way I can get them attached where they'll be the most accurate. But in honesty, I'm having a lot of trouble. Can post pictures if necessary.

I just got my X52 Pro in the post, so I'm really pumped to start flying, but so far I just need to get all of my set-up down pat before I can start using it more comfortably.

(I really love FaceTrackNOIR's curve editor, but good lord I dunno if I'm doing something wrong in it or not, it just wont work how I want it to.)

It seems when I look up FaceTrackNOIR with the pointtracker thinks I'm crouching down a bit, and when I lean left it leans me down as well. But not when I lean right or when I look down. Gaaaaah.

maybe you can try my settings.Did you also use the calibrate  function( moving your head whithout moving your shoulders)?
If you want to try my settings, I probably use different keys then you.

Eh, sort of works, much smoother than mine. But when I lean left, or even roll my head either way, my guy decides to look backwards, so, I dunno if it's because my dimensions are messed or not.

This is a fun project, it's getting a bit frustrating, but I'm still not gonna give in and spend $100 just to get the TrackIR.

Iam almost certain that this is caused by wrong dimension input.
And read the part about calibrating:
http://ftnoirpt.sourceforge.net/

what are the dimensions of your model? Maybe you dots melt together while you move your head.I made a much bigger model when I switched from my vx3000 webcam to the ps3-eys to avoid that problem. In the picture you see them both.
