So, I'm quite chuffed with myself.. I have made a 3 point hat and it works in IL2 CLOD... sort of.
I ordered red LEDs originally because I couldn't find the IR ones. I made sure I ordered wide angle LEDs but I still seem to get them 'disappearing' when I turn my head.
Because I bought wide angle LEDs I didn't think I would have this problem. Do I still need to file down the lens tip?

How far do you turn your head?Maybe if you increase the sensitivity you don't have to turn your head to far and the dots don't dissapear
Just for testing, hold them close to your webcam and turn them.If they don't dissapear now they are probably not bright enough.

Filed down the lens tips and that made a difference. However, it now looks to me that the main problem is my dimensions. The two front LEDS are too far apart so I'm going to do a rebuild (with IR leds). I'll call my first effort a prototype...
