Hi, I have managed to disassemble the "Bad" PS3 eye into 3 pieces without damaging any of them. I was wondering which piece contains the filter, and advice on removal of that piece.

Any help identifing the piece in question would be very appreciated.

Hi,

as far as I now there a several type of lens for the PS3. One filter is made by vapor deposition on of the lens. So it's impossible to demount.
It seems, that this method works:

Others had a filter-lens:

Ok. looking at the lense for the zoom adjustment. It looks to have a fine purple coating on one side, so i would assume that is the IR filter coating.
I will look into getting some abrasive compound.

Went ahead and found a 'good' ps3 eye used at store. Removed ir filter, added in 2 layer neg film visible light filter, works perfectly.
