Hi all. I have just bay a Microsoft webcam vx2000 coz i could not find vx1000 or vx3000 in Greece.
After installing the software i restart but the camera refused to work. I use a dual core running XPsp3.
I have reinstall the software some times but "Microsoft LifeCam" software refused to open telling me to contact the Microsoft.
Anyway i found that the camera working in this website i have cheched:
http://www.testmycam.com/

As the device manager said there is not hardware problem.

I open freetrack 2.2 and it gave me a message:
"floating point division to zero"
so i reset freetrack and open it again.

Ok, my cam working in freetrack now, but i cannot get more than 15fps!
I know how to handle freetrack coz i use it 1 year now but with another camera, a VMicro and 30fps. (it is dead now)...

So:
-I cannot change the resolution, it use only 640 x 480 at 15 fps. (It has all the res availaible but if i choose one lower res it enable 30 fps but the program close violently!)

- I cannot change the color compresion, it uses only "YUY2". (It has RGB24 also but if i choose it, the program close!)

-I have not left "auto settings" enabled in "camera properties"

-I have try all my usb ports. I use a usb 2.0 hispeed now. There is not bandwith check box in "camera settings"

(notice i  have not remove the IR yet)

Any ideas? Is Microsoft VX2000 not compatible with freetrack?

Thank you from now.

And now my new move about it:

I reinstall windows XP pro without SP3, only sp2 without updates.

VX2000 software working now without problems.
Freetrack 2.2 working too and give me 30fps.
But it is very slow to response to my head moves. There is a delay about 1-2 seconds. You know what is that mean during a dogfight.

So i have try all the resolutions but nothing.
I found that it response very fast if i deactivate "frame rate multiplier" and leave it to 1 using only 30 fps.
But now during dogfight i see EVERY FRAME like to see the battle in slow motion in a old cinema movie.

Any ideas about the settings? Smoothing is very low to increase responsiveness. i need to remove IR filter or not as i use red led and not ir leds?
(i don't now anyway how to open this cam)
