I got a PS3 eye after having it recommended highly on this forum and abandoned my wiimote as I didn't want to deal with the batteries. I tried my PS3 eye without a visible light filter, It can see my TSAL6400s ( which were highly recommended for the wiimote ) but it doesn't have good tracking.
After putting a cut up floppy disk on it, it was able to sort of see the LEDs, but the output still wasn't awesome. Currently I'm waving a breadboard at it with the LEDs .15V overvolted. My current LED's important looking specs: IR emitter, 5MM. 940NM Voltage, VF Max 1.35V Viewing angle 50 degrees Half angle: 25 degrees Radiant intensity: 40mW/Sr LED lamp size: t-1 3/4 Since I'm an artist I'd really like to stay below the visible light spectrum. What do you guys suggest? |

Use this for WiiMote: (it's is USB-powered) Link to Dutch webstore: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/games/battery-usb-cable/1004004006735750/index.html#product_images If you still want to use PS3 Eye ... remove filter inside ! |

I can't read dutch to get the model number for that piece of hardware so I can grab it in the U.S.! Can you please help me out there? What I found in the U.S. was $35 without a wiimote and all it was was an AC adapter, so I ran.
What resolution do you run your monitor at? I eventually intend to put this on a 2560x1600 30 inch screen, so I'm a tad worried...but I suppose with a wiimote I could even mount it behind me using bluetooth and a wall plug to USB adapter and make a reverse head mount... Oh, you are now my new best friend for that inspiration! Thank you very much! Can you remove the filter on the newer PS3 eyes? I'd heard it was impossible. Can you link me to a guide that specifically mentions the new models of PS3 eyes? |

Google for "rechargeable battery pack for Nintendo Wii"
I found this one in the USA? : $ 4.95 http://www.dinodirect.com/Rechargeable-3600mAh-Battery-Pack-for-Nintendo-Wii-White.html And you're probably right about the newest ps3 eye's, try to get a used older one. |

That place looks scary! I'm also not finding great reviews about them. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/DinoDirect They also tend to take 2 weeks or more to ship, I'm patient but not THAT patient.
I'm going for these instead: http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Controller-Replacement-Rechargeable-Batteries-Nintendo/dp/B003NYNDCC/ref=lh_ni_t_ The two pack is here: http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Controller-Battery-2-Pack-Nintendo/dp/B001O1WPES/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Hope at least one of the two from the pack work! Edit: Yes I'm going to do both. I'm working on both a wiimote and a PS3 eye and am wiring my headset to be very easily modifiable between different colors of LEDs. Maybe. I hope I can do this. LOL
