Hi!

I've just discovered Free Track and i am really impressed. The problem is that i have absolutely no experience working with electricity. Do anyone know of a complete LED cap or glasses or something that you can buy on the internet or in a store? (Or is there a way to make it yourself that does not include resistors and soldering irons? ;)  )

Another problem i have is that the webcam i use is build in to my laptop thus making it quite difficult (at least for someone like me) to even think of removing the IR-filter. Has anyone used this program on a laptop webcam before? Does a webcam camera even have a IR-filter?

All help i get is very very appreciated!! I cant wait to play Lock On and Arma II with headtracking!

Best Regards!

Computer information:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Webcam: Bisoncam
Intel i7 Processor

I'm not sure if it works with W7, but  you can test it to see if it will work using a tv remote.  Also, I made my own head tracking device and I don't know a thing about electronics.  It was easy and I didn't even use a soldering iron.  But if you really feel uncomfortable about making it yourself, get the track clip pro from Natural Point for about $35.

Now you tell me!!  If I would have seen this I would have bought that instead.  This hat making crap is for the birds.

I got some High quality LED's and they have a 100degree viewing angle and they still dont scan so hot.  Whats the deal with this stuff?

Dont know specter think this software is a good idea but the support is bad. I aalso think this being mainly a non-usa project that no one will give good answers as I cant get free track to work with a simple remote :/

problem is theres too much information, and noobs like myself that dont like to read rocket scientist manuals rush out and buy things thinking that they will work together.  I honestly believe the system was designed to work like how I did it.   http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2650

Thats not saying that it wont work otherways.  But I believe that the results will not be what you would be looking for.  I had absolutely ZERO luck with NON Infared.

I must correct my early statements, There was help here and once someone got committed to helping me we were able to resolve my isssues.  Dewey1 was a HUGE help.

He told me many times read up.  Problem is there is sooo much reading of other stuff that dont work so hot and it led me astray.  I think an admin should create different forum sections for different setup designs.

For instance.

Yeah I am an engineer myself and getting a LED or IR LED cap or clip done is no problem. the problem USED to be the program itself interfacing with the webcam that I have. But I figured out what the problem was and now have FT working flawlessly and getting extream results with it.

I do however think that maybe threads like what you had mentioned wouldve been a better way to go about having support in the forums where the OP is the only one that can post. If someone had a question on any of the support post they could just message the OP. Like with me, I am gonna Start a support post for the Logitech C250h webcam for use with free track. Hopefully I will not have people post un-needed information to clutter the topic. Hopefully they will get the idea to send me a message for answering questions they may have.

EDIT: The C200 that you have in those pictures has the exact same IR filter as the C250h. So anyone with the same Logitech camera as Specter (C200) or me (C250h) use the link provided by Specter in this thread to remove IR filter for either cam.
