This fixing hang when you press start button. You will see some bug but at last it is working now on windows 7 x64 and XP.
Short howto: 1. Get ps3eye 2. Download and install CLeye driver from: http://codelaboratories.com/downloads/ 3. Uninstal previously instaled freetrack. 4. Download and unpack fix from: http://www.sendspace.com/file/2stcof 5. Install freetrack 2.2.0.279 but NOT start yet. 6. Copy files from unpacked fix to freetrack main folder (overwrite). 7. Start freetrack as administrator. Try to change camera properties when freetrack is running. It may solve similiar problem on other cam. |

Cool. It works better than it did, but I get ntl.dll errors when I try to change the camera settings.
Could you make a post describing what you did to get a working build environment setup? |

This nt.dll like error is prabobly related to fact that AlexP driver is reset camera setting in some situations.
I only currently get working build setup for DShowFilter part where image data is processed. Still cannot pass problems in main program. Ok i write tomorow howto in "Source repository" topic. I testing and find 640x480 >30fps hangs after some time. After reading topic on CLeye forum it looks like driver bug. Is yours ps3eye hot when working in 640x480@60fps? (overheating?) But 320x240@125fps looks stable on my config (freetrack is limit it to 115fps) and tracking is almost perfect now.

Thanks for putting the effort into this. There may be hope at keeping this alive after all. I'm on my 2nd build now running win ult 32 bit. Just bought a ps3 eye and it looks promising. I'm still seeking my first real positive FSX experience with FT. I had only a wiimote and found ..79 to be real jerky, even in the cam portion of FT. The ps3 eye allowed me to dload and install 2.1.2 version. Prliminary looks good. next step to remove ir filter or better and easier, floppy disk (film)
I will post my results. I have been frustrated in the past but I hope to get this working and be able to be a positive poster and advocate of FT. I also look forward to the next posting on this topic! Cheers & Salut! |

The FIX is based on latest DShowFilter code from repository so tracking is same as in 279 version... but mayby high fps will cure your problems in FSX. Compiling hybride with tracking from 2.1 into 2.2 should by doable. Did you success in compiling whole main project? |

AlexP released new version of cl-eye driver.
CL-eye 4.0.1.0501 After testing all hanging issues looks resolved. Now I can fully using Freetrack in 640x480@75fps mode. I realy recomend PS3eye for FreeTrack. |

What's the 75 degree fov setting like? I'm interested in getting maximum possible displacement in close proximity.

If you want use 75deg fov camera setting than LED light angle and intensity is realy important!! For better LED angle you should try filling LED lens and/or use benmeijer IR balls mod descibed on this forum. LEDs must work on high current value (90mA-95mA if LED spec 100mA) and i suggest remove ir filter from camera. |

I'm having some problems with stabilty on my system.
I've installed everything as the guide says, latest drivers on the CL Driver page, latest Freetrack, copy the modified files, everything works perfect for the first 3-4 minutes, but after that, my monitor changes resolution and turns black. I've tested many times and it's because of Freetrack or the Camera drivers. Playing the sim alone, does not crash, ever (Black Shark, btw). I have tried setting the camera to 640x480 30fps, lowering to 320x240 at 30, 60, and 100fps, updating directx and video drivers, and even updating my TV to latest firmware. Video card is cool, BTW, so not heat problems on the PC. Nothing changes. Between 2 and 4 minutes, FT goes bonkers and crashes my image (seems it's not a total PC crash, only image) |

It seems I have resolved my problems.
I have done two things, but I don't really know which one is the solution: - Uninstalled C++ Redistributable 2008 - I have read this package generates problems on some graphic cards, showing the atikmdag error. - Installed the new driver for the PS Eye. I have the feeling that in my case, my problems were caused by the C++ redistributable package, but anyway, now every game runs perfect. BTW the PS Eye tracks way, way better with the new driver. From very jittery and very low dot recognition, it has gone up to an almost perfect experience at 640x480 60fps. Thanks everybody for your time, and freetrack creators for an excellent piece of software. |
