Sorry to be dense but I downloaded the EnableVista program and my exposure button is still grayed out.  What am I doing wrong or not doing?
Running Vista 64.

Thanks!

Has anyone used the EnableVista download successfully to turn off the Auto-exposure button for their webcam?

Thanks!

what kind of camera?

mine took a couple of go's but got there in the end

1. Set auto exposure on (default) and exposure value to 0 (or a little higher).
2. Place a bright light source, like a lamp, in the field of view of the camera so that it reaches 30fps.
3. Disable auto exposure with one of the enable button apps.
4. Switch the light off,  the camera should still be producing 30fps and will continue to do so while the exposure settings are not changed.

I have a Microsoft LifeCam vx-3000.  I've downloaded the EnableVista app but still cannot turn off the Auto Exposure button - it is still greyed out.

Were there any tricks you learned as you did it?   Thanks for any help!

Can anyone tell me where to download the enable button software?  I've built a 3 point IR LED clip and use a VX-1000 with the IR filter removed.  OS = Win XP Home Ed.

The webcam "sees" the 3 point clip device, so that's not an issue.  Free track does not "see" it, though.  I get an error message about pins not being connected.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

David
