Hey guys
Thought id throw up a quick how to on how i got TIRviews working in FSX without it cutting out after 3 or so seconds! First off you need virtualroutes's Tirviews zip package which was posted here a while back http://www.virtualroutes.org/Arquivos/FREETRACK22.zip Download & Unzip it to your freetrack 2.2 dir open your freetrack 2.2 folder & Find TIRViews.dll, rename it to TIRView.dll Start freetrack (dont start tracking) select your FSX profile & in the output section make sure TrackIR Interface is unticked (also untick simmcontect and freetrack interface also) start FSX and let it load to the main GUI go back to your trackir folder and rename TIRView.dll to TIRViews.dll in freetrack go to the output section and retick TrackIR Interface start freetracks tracking mode them minimize it start your flight in FSX and you should have full smooth TRI tracking if you want to tweak your freetrack settings, window FSX (alt+enter)and a pull up freetrack for tweaking now unfortunally you'll have to repeat these steps everytime you want to use TRI tracking in FSX(atleast till the guys here can fix it) as it seems Freetrack has some problem outputing via its TrackIR Interface if it finds the TIRView.dll present at startup i havent had chance to try this on more than 1 PC but ive used this method about 20 or so times now and it works great for me so if anyone else gets it working this way id be keen to know hope this helps Cheers Gizmo |

Gizmo,
Is Tirviews better than Simconnect? I use Simconnect and this works fine even with 3 screens (SoftTh) and Freetrack. Sometimes I wonder what people try to get Freetrack to work properly! |

I found it much smoother than simconnect which in 2.2 always felt a bit jittery no matter what setting i use in fact till i got 2.2 Tirviews working i was back in 2.1 using simmconnect there as that felt smoother than SC 2.2 but still not as smooth as 2.2 Tirviews
just make up a new profile and give it a try it cant hurt and if you dont like it just drop back to SC hope that helps Gizmo |

I tried the procedure in the first post ..... this didn't work for me! did I have to install something from Tirviews in FSX? or setup fo Tirviews in FSX? returned to SC .....

I tried it, but it works only in first flight. If i alt-tab to change settings or just end flight and start another one, it stops working. But i think that's the problem with FT 2.2. ver2.1 is still the best.

Can anyone reupload somewhere the FREETRACK22.zip file?
I would try this solution, because I can't make it work FT and FSX as smooth as it should be. The priority setting is a lot of help, but there is still some jitter, so it isn't enough (for me :P ) I've got a headache after few hours of flying... I'm using Win7 64bit, but it was the same with the Vista 32bit. My Logi cam can work only at 15 fps in vga, but the multiplier (4×) should make a smooth output signal (like in other games it does). In the FSX, I can look around smoothly with the mouse, however with the FT is so frustrating Thx! Edit: Sry, I didn't know, that the TIRViews.dll file is a part of the official TrackIR v5 program, so I installed it, and got the file. Yes, it's working even without the rename procedure. In my case this solution is more smooth and stable, than the simconnect, so thx for the tip!

I'm not able to get FSX to work with the above procedure. I also cannot roll back to 2.1 as my rig uses a wiimote which 2.1 doesn't support. Simconnect is too jerky even though I've tweaked the heck out of it. I've tried evrything proposed on the forums but no luck with FSX.
As one of the primary apps I wanted to get this to work with is FSX. It works with FS: A century of flight flawlessly. Looks like I may have to bite the proverbial bullet and purchase trackir. Merry Christmas to all! |

Is there a sticky somewhere that shows how to connect to FSX using tirviews.dll?
I.e. which directory should the .dll be placed and is there anything to be done in FSX itself to get it to connect? Jeff |
