Can somebody help me with as to how this combo is done? I have the newer model (sleh-00448) which to my understanding, you can not remove the IR filter. I have to be 3 inches away for the PS eye to even pick the lights up and even then they aren't consistent. Does anyone have a good solution for this?

Can someone give me a new camera suggestion? I  have a feeling I'm not going to get this to work.

I got it functioning with some negative film, not extremely ideal because the trackclip isn't bright it's working atleast. Does anyone know how to get it working in prepar3d?

Love to see one of those threads where OP is having a monologue and manages to work things out by himself.  :p

Any tips on how you got track clip to work with freetrack? Using the fake TrackIR process? Is it worth it to invest into a clip like that rather than to make your own cap?

Hi,

you can use Freetrack with any tracking mount, as long as you stay in the required geometric conditions. So TrackIR-Clip works fine.

Have a look at the model gallery. If you think you can home-made one of these, you certainly save up some money.
