I haven't seen your pics Deimos but couldn't you make your reflective points smaller and circular?

Deimos, what if you make the reflectors a little more strait, from this:

To this:

That should make the points smaller. Also you could make the reflectors more curved, so the points could be less retangular.

I agree with Kestrel about making it circular. That will result in a perfect round and small point. But the tape became waved when trying to stick it on the domed surface. That would ruin the point reflection. My mistake. I should have kept the reflectors smaller. Will try again and do it the right way   .
