Hi,

I'm looking for a place to order the IR LEDs from in the US. All the distributors I'm come across have a $250 min per order. A bit steep for 4 LEDs :-)

Any address you can share?

If not, any place in europe that would ship international?

But you can only make a search with SFH485 (without the final P)
$0.57 each, no minimum, $5 handling + $?? for shipping.

In both instances, it seams they are rounded head, not flat as what is described here.

Could be wise to contact them before committing.

The SFH485P from AVNET are the correct ones. They are the flat top.

If you find it hard to find these leds you might try buying standard dome-tipped leds and use a file or sandpaper to cut their top flat. That's what i did and it works like a charm:

Even from the side the LED's light is visible to the camera.
Also, don't try to polish the top of the led once it is flat - if it is matte, it will disperse the light, making it visible from even greater angles.
