wormeaten: On your keyboard, hit Win+R. In the Run box, type regedit. In the Registry Editor, HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Double-click it, and follow the path Dwit laid out:
System\ControlSet001\Control. Now Right-click Class, click Find and search for usb\class_01. You will find this:
Posted Image

See the area inside the red rectangle?
That's the usb\class_01 value.

Now Double-click its name, MatchingDeviceID, and in the small window that shows, change the text from usb\class_01 to usb\Vid_1415&Pid_2000&MI_01.

Good luck! :)

I have followed Slaveri's instructions , but when I activate the ps3 eye in freetrack, freetrack crashes. I uninstalled everything and tried again using an older CL-eye driver (v4.0.1.0501)but the same thing happens. Any ideas?

Hi,

I have followed your instructions for the PS3 Eye, but I have a problem.

After starting the tracking system, the tracking starts to become slow with a big delay between head movement and in-game movement. That is happening after about one minute, in the beginning there is no delay.

I have tried various stream settings, and the issue is still there.

Can someone post a general starting point for the four tabs across the bottom?

When I use CL Eye Test, the camera is centered on my head.  When I start FT, the camera is way off to one side.  It's like FT is only resolving a small part of the CCD.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

new here and excited to get some IR equipment!

I have a trackclip pro, with a PS3 eye (filtered with 2 pieces of exposed film).

i have spent all night following instructions and searching google etc but still cannot get this to work.

I can see my 3 white dots perfectly in the CL-Eye Test but when I open freetrack and press start there is absolutely nothing. Only the 2 white grid lines.

Surely if CL-Eye Test sees it perfectly with no background interference then shouldnt freetrack be able to see it?

I would really really appreciate some help with this as its been a long and painful 4 hours!

BTW I have installed the fix for Win7 (in the correct order) and also run CL-Eye then Freetrack as admin, but still nothing. I even changed the usb name in regedit as posted above.

I have no idea what i am doing wrong :(

I'm using the PS3 Eye on Windows 7 64-bit Home version.  I've followed all the steps per http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2416.  The IR LEDs I'm using are the OSRAM SFH485P @ 3V, powered by a 9V battery.  The CL Test is picking them up, but I can't get them to work in FreeTrack.  The skull and IR points are moving independently even when I sit still.  I read something about modifying a DLL or INI file, but I don't know how to do this.  I tried registering other files listed in the forum at the command prompt, but they were not recognised.  Also, I am playing OFF, and is there a specific registry code for this game?  I am frustrated and would like to know how to get FreeTrack to work with Windows 7 64-bit  :pigekedal:

After my last post, I was able to download PPJoy for Windows 7 64-bit, and set a Virtual Joystick as "Controller 2" under Options.  FreeTrack hasn't responded to it, and I'm not sure how to calibrate my IR LEDs as a virtual joystick.  Do I delete the PPJoy bundled with the latest FreeTrack and replace it with the "PPJoy Joystick Program"?  I also tried the regedit suggestion as per yonyz's post, but with no success.  Here's what I found:

explain better what is your problem. You can't see the 3 dots in freetrack or what? You configured freetrack to use your model (size, type (cap or clip)? How is you threshold configured? Point size? You need to set all those parameters to have a freetrack working well. You don't need ppjoy.

I got my problem sorted btw guys. I was running CL-eye at the same time as Freetrack, which was stealing the exclusive feed of the camera. Pretty dumb, I know!

Now just to find out how to calibrate and use in ARMA2 in time for the imminent Project Reality MOD release, woohoo!

If anyone has any tips on Freetrack use with ARMA2 then please do link!

Cheers!

I'm able to see the 3 dots, but they are moving even when my head is still - the skull does the same.  I configured my model as a #3 clip. I set the threshold about 1 to 1,5 cm from the left, and also tried other positions - but virtually nothing changed. Point size - 2 pix min, 30 pix max.  Keeping the sensitivity at 0.0, the skull and dots move slightly on their own, then move erratically if the sensitivity is raised.  Sorry for not being clear the first time.

The 3 dots are red, and demo video is the only option available.  I am not sure what you mean by jitters - I am getting movement in all directions.  The dots at the right hand corner are alternating between green and red.
