Better late than never:

SFH-485P are the LEDs.

For the rest you already have the answers.

And good and bad news:

the newest drivers work with 320x240 at 60FPS!
But they don't work at 640x480 which is essentail for smooth operation and good reception. I'm having trouble getting freetrack to track at 320x240 smoothly. Reception really goes down the drain very fast. A lot of playing with settings yet again.

Now PS3 eye works flawlessly with FreeTrack!!!
Steady 125 fps at 340x120 and 75fps at 640x480!!!!  No matter is it B\W or Color - it provides those FPS without any significant CPU load!!!
Great cam! AlexP switch to use it instead of professional Firefly MV B/W camera from PGR in his IR experiments!

Just dont forget to choose proper settings in Stream Options and then type needed FPS in "Frame rate" tab of a FT program

Look here for final details:

Which system is better in performance, Wiimote or PS3 Eye?

Got my eye to work perfectly without removing the filter. I am going to shy away from removing due to focus problems after removal especially when I have no problems with it in

I have a TrackClip Pro and my PS3 Eye is having a hard time seeing its IR LEDs when I put a floppy or an exposed piece of film in front of its lens.

Good news, fellas.
I have followed Peau Productions' video tutorial on removing the Eye's IR filter and using a piece of floppy for blocking visible light.
It works just perfect. The whole image is black, except the TrackClip Pro's IR LEDs, which, without the IR filter, look like big spotlights. I can now use FreeTrack in daylight. Yay! :D

You guys should try to use Ps3 Eye Cam first without removing IR filter,
since mine can detect the LEDs flawlessly straight out of the box, no need to mess around with IR filter.

DO you suggest only 1 layer of floppy disk black plastic?
