Well spent most of the afternoon with FSX & 2.2 trying all combinations of setting & keeping a log of what i tryed, but im sorry to say still no luck :(

TIRViews.dll in FT root with trackir interface output checkbox/blacked out txt with dummy exe running gives no headtracking input to FSX but halfs my FSX VC FPS

Simconnect output works but just gives hyper sensitive movement in all axies

Again Tracking within the FT skull windows works perfectly but not in FSX

Same degree of tracking under 2.1 works perfectly both in FT skull window & in FSX

Can we get some dev input on this please,i know you guys worked really hard to get this out for us & it would be frustrating to see all that work go to waste by haveing to have FSX users fall back to using 2.1

Cheers
Gizmo

Hi again,
I  reinstalled the two software not once with original FSUIPC from freetrack folder, and cleaned the registry before. I have done what you wrote, and with TIRVIEW.dll in the Freetrack folder the tracking absolute not working in FS2004. If I remove TIRVIEW.dll, or disable TrackIR Interface, the tracking working again (with too sensitive movement reaction). I downloaded the newest fsuipc version(v3.82), but nothing happened too. I reconfigured all the checkbox option in every variation, but not working for me. I think this software version system specific. I don't more idea, what would I do.

Hey,

Looks like jj1000 found a workaround (see here : http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=1188) , try it as a hotfix isn't available yet :

jj1000 a dit:

Left 2 messages but got no replies but I will share the secret to fsx and v 2.2.
just install v 2.2 nothing fancy and you can start a new profile and adjust the sen. of the pitch and yaw axis to look around cockpit but do not touch the z axis if you do and even if you don't change anything you will never be able to stay in the cockpit and look around. It works great now so just don't adjust anything but the pitch and yaw.

And thanks to him ! :D

Didja, that works! I am using a wiimote, I make a new profile and only touch the rotational sensitivities. You don't get translation that way, but more importantly you do stay in the plane. I hate translation in fsx anyway. I did have to do this every time I restart free track though. But hey, better than nothing right?

And let me tell you, the fast reaction of using the wiimote, with no fps loss in fsx? FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

weird, can't you just disable the axis by not mapping it to anything? worked for me with the head thingy

I'm running FSX and if you only want 3DOF then you can select no output for the X Y and Z axis. That's how I'm running at the moment. It's better than nothing as you can look around the cockpit but it lacks the same emersion as 6DOF. Like others, I'll patiently await a working solution  :p

Same conclusion here... I can't get 6 DOF working so Im going to quit trying to get it to work for now... Is there a good solution for zooming in the cockpit without using keyboard... can you assign a joystick buttton to zoom in and out until we get 6DOF working....

Quarrion @ 10/10/2008 - 04h49 a dit:

mmbarry @ 09/10/2008 - 23h08 a dit:

I have copied TIRViews.dll into the root directory of freetrack. I can see the TIRviews option is now black instead of grey. I make sure the Freetrack interface option is unselected. (it doesn't work with it selected either) When I select the TrackIR interface option the simconnect option greys out which I had expected. I can also see the dummy trackIR.exe process running in task manager. The problem is that there is no input making it to FSX.

i noticed there are two files, simconnect.manifest and simconnectsp2.manifest in the trackir directory, maybe you need those as well?

I copied the simconnectsp2.manifest into the FT root directory and found that this works briefly with FSX. All XYZ translation is within the cockpit! The problem is that it runs for a couple of seconds and then either FSX stops accepting the trackIR input or FT stops outputting data. I can turn off trackIR output then turn it back on and I get a few more seconds of movement. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has tired the same thing and if it only works for a little bit on your system...

Are there any developers reading the problems here? I really think using the Wiimote with FSX could be very cool but I can't get it working only inside the cockpit. If I use TIRVIEWS nothing happens anymore, with simconnect I'm 10 times faster than my plane...
You are the best if you could get this fixed. At this time Freetrack is useless for me and I#m really sad about this...

Thank's Kai
