I have the Steam version of Dirt 2. There seems to be no protection as far as I can tell as I moved the Dirt 2 game to different folder and run it without Steam no problem. I run the game from Dirt2.exe.
I PRAY you can get this working for Dirt 2... any work is appreciated to the highest degree.....

The only unprotected exe currently available for DiRT 2 does not appear to contain the required TrackIR code. It's probably preliminary and a more complete one will become available later.
Remember you can always politely ask the developers for FreeTrack support. You could also make an attempt at getting something working with joystick emulation.

Quarrion TrackIRFixer seems happy to patch dirt2_game.exe (if renamed to dirt2.exe), doesn't that mean it contains the necessary code?
Of course once patched we can't start it, perhaps because the launcher dirt2.exe detects that's it's been tampered with and refuses to run.
Dirt2 is definitely listed as TrackIR compatible:

Just thinking of how awesome this would be with head tracking. Sorry if I'm bugging.

I emailed codemasters about a possible patch to enable freetrack the reply was they have no plans to do so at the moment

The new Arma 1.05 patch says:
DRM free for users of legitimate installs.
Does this mean that Freetrack will now work with that and doesn't need beta patch anymore?
Just thinking about buying Arma2 so can't test it myself.

Again, thanks for making my old (but fully working) TIR2 usefull in DCS:BS and ArmA II - NP's move to try and force an upgrade really stinks!
