vx1000 owners who realy disabled AE please post your driver version.
Thank you tankbuster ) but your version 10.xx.xx.xxx I can't find.
All drivers i saw begins with 5.xx.xx.xx

It's a bit embarrassing really... The driver version I posted was actually for an old logitech cam that I don't have any more.  :gene:
Real driver version is 5.12.1.42

Something like that happened to me too thankbuster  :)
but effort is important  :)
I tried ......40  ... 47  ...49    driver no difference :(
Can you confirm that when you restart freetrack exposure
don't jump to 24 or whatever?
We have to beat those crappy m$ drivers  :)

 @Karlson
You have to use the lamp and Enable button program
I see that your exposure is on 24 you have to cut it down

In the case of Microsoft VX-1000:
1. Set auto exposure on (default) and exposure value to 0 (or a little higher).
2. Place a bright light source, like a lamp, in the field of view of the camera so that it reaches 30fps.
3. Disable auto exposure with one of the enable button apps.
4. Switch the light off,  the camera should still be producing 30fps and will continue to do so while the exposure settings are not changed.

Kestrel ,I made a mistake posting my VID/PID , I'm verry sorry for
confusing you.It is same like others.
In my search for solving this problem I find your topic at logitech forum
about IAMCameraControl Interface.
Is there another way to override the driver because I think that like
in logitech drivers IAMCameraControl isn't supported by m$ driver programmers :(
Maybe some patch on the driver, I see lot of people recently have
problems with vx X000 cams.
Main problem is that when camera is restarted exposure jumps to 24
and I have to use the lamp again.
I'm afraid that every time cam ask  more light  :D
some kind of addiction )

Off line Www

I know this may seem odd, but when I click on the Camera button in FT I only get a small window with a few options showing and no way to scroll down.  I can't get to AE from within FT.  I'll try the new maintenance release, but I don't know if it will help.

any ideas?

I get this too on a VX3000 with current drivers. It still works fine and FPS remains at 30 however.
