SEE @ 02/09/2010 - 02h51 a dit:

When you launch IL1946, Freetrack will load the 'IL1945' default file and overide any adjustments you have made. .

No kidding?!? Wow, that is amazing, I had no idea! I will have to check that out....thanks.

SEE @ 02/09/2010 - 02h51 a dit:

IL1946 was never written for 6 DOF and when you move in and out you will notice three distinct changes in the FOV.      Set your flightstick so that the POV buttons access some of the FT axis control functions.   MY POV has four actions depending on which direction I toggle it -  Pause FT, Autocentre with Pause, Disable X Y (when I'm on someones six) and set view to widest Field of View (assign the keyboard stroke in the IL2 Keyboard assignmenst to your POV).  When I'm on someones six, I move closer to the screen but hit the POV to restore the wide view rather than move back through three distinct changes of view. You can assign any keystrokes in FT and toggle them.

Again, pure genius!  I had completely forgotten that I now have a POV hat with no use, why not make Freetrack use it!

Thank you!

Just Make sure that any keystrokes assigned to control FT axis are not used by any other IL2 keystrokes otherwise you will get multiple actions and possible 'Access Violation Errors'.   Assign 'Toggle Gunsight' to one of your flightstick controls as this will overide FT (you can still look around but in 2 DOF) and this will assist in precise targetting.  I dont zoom in too close anyway as the 'headshake' is magnified but I fly in full realism.  FT is excellent with IL1946 once set up correctly so you shouldn't have any problems if your Frame rates are Ok but this depends on your PC and Graphics Card.  If its not smooth then its not set up correctly (and that includes your graphic card Video set up).  If the standard mouse look around is jerky or suffers screen tearing, etc,  then FT will be no better so check that mouse look around or your POV set up as a mouse is performing well then enable TRackIR in your Config file and set up FT to do what you want.

Try this:  After you launch IL2 and your in the the aircraft hold down the control key and the * key at the same time.  While holding those keys a menu will come up, then press the zero key on the num pad.  this will help your 6dof run smoother.  You will have to do this each time you launch the game.  I flew for a year before I found out about this trick. lol

Good tips, thanks.   My performance has always been excellent, and mouse look was always very smooth with no stuttering at all.  The only keystrokes I have setup with FT is shift+F12 to center and shift+pause to pause it, although it doesnt seem to really pause FT at all.   :gene:

Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by keystrokes assigned to control FT axis....
