What IR LED's are you guys using in the states and where are you getting them? Thanks

you can get 5mm ir leds that have 1.2v foward current, and 100ma max. ant radio shack. You just have to put up with the pricks at the front counter that think they know more than you... lol. I hate that part.

Hi,

And the most fitting LEDs are the SFH485P because they have got a wide angle.

If you can't get them, get the ones marusw told you (1.5V, 100mA) and you will sand them (see the FAQ) to enlarge their angle.

It is true that sfh485p's have a wide angle, but if you sand down the tops, any led will. sfh485p's have a wavelength of 850nm, where as 940nm is better.

Some specialized devices, such as the wiimote, aren't capable of picking up the shorter wave lengths of infrared.

I'm currently on the mission of finding the holy grail of ir leds for this system, I've found other flat tops out there, but some of them operate above 1.5v, thus the search continues, lol.
