Hello, my name is Towne,
My fps is at 5 all the time. How do i changed it.  I downloaded the enable key and turned off the auto exposure, but it is still at 5fps.  Is any one willing to help me?
Thank you and God bless!

PS. is there a game profile for operation flashpoint?

Hello Towne,

Each brand of webcam is different. Do you know the make and model of webcam you are using? I use a logitech quickcam, and I have to disable white balance, low light boost, and color boost in addition to auto exposure.

The low light boost was the most substantial increase in fps for me, and I keep a steady 30 fps. If your cam has this feature, that may help.
Also, check the specifications for your webcam. Most of the time, the max. fps is in there. You might just have a webcam that will not be ideal for use with free-track. Hopefully this is not the case though.

I'm sure if you reply with your model of webcam, one of us can help. ;)

Until then,
Marcus

That's exatcly what happened to me yesterday. The day before yesterday I used freetrack absolutely without problems, till night. Yesterday, the first time I launched freetrack, I had 10 fps at the beginning, and then 5 fps, always...with CPU! alarm red light.

I didn't know why, I thought it was because I had recorded a video with my webcam, so maybe some options were modified by the webcam software.

I solved the problem by clicking on "force exposure" button in freetrack, and checking the box "camera control interface" and setting "exposure" at the correct value, till FPS came back to 30 fps. Hope this can help you.

My webcam is a logitech STX.

I have the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.  This morning I have 30 fps, but 30 jitters, and it wont pick up the LEDs now.  I dont get it lol.  If its not one problem its another lol.  Is there a way to fix that?

Do you have the correct exposure and threshold?

another thing, it may seem simple but one problem I had starting out is I did not know that the webcam was out of focus. since you can't see anything with it, you can easily foget that this must be done. My camera has high jitter when it doesn't see the points, but jitter drops when the points are present.

How do I know I have the  correct exposure and threshold?  Well now its been running at 20 fps dont know why.  When I try to use it in Il2-46 it doesnt move smooth like you see in the youtube videos, it just jerks around like crazy at times. I have the movement settings low, and the smoothing for them up high.  I dont know what to do.

Another question, is there a way to make it where I can have light on in my room with out it picking it up?  Or do I have to have it dark in my room to use it?

Before starting the game, check that freetrack is working properly. Of course if you have light in the room, and you have normal red LEDS, freetrack could recognize 'false LEDS' behind you (for instance, I have some photos that reflect light from a window to the webcam), and this would drive freetrack mad.

Just try to make it work in darkness, adjust exposure and threshold, you have to see just 3 crosses on the screen, without any other sign. Try changing video compression (from RGB24 to I420).

Did you read carefully the manual? You could have missed something. Don't worry about the jitter. I have high jitter too, sometimes, with high FPS, and all work good.

Another thing that can affect frame rates is plugging your webcam into a usb hub with several other devices. For I long time my FPS wouldn't budge past 12, and I couldn't figure out way. Unplugging the cam from the usb hub and sticking it in to one of my laptop's free laptop ports fixed the problem.

No. The game doesn't support it but Armed Assault does.
