I have a Dell m1730 Laptop with a built-in webcam, and also a Dell 22" monitor (Model SP2208WFP) with a built-in webcam. Does anyone know it either or both of these webcams will work with FreeTrack? I can't seem to find any controls or adjustment settings for either. They are both listed as USB Video Devices in Explorer.
Well, i dont know.
But i know the Free-Track software is NOT a malicious piece of software.
Try installing it, see what you get -cut a floppy disk, cover your webcam hole.
Grab a Remote (any kind) hold it infront of the covered webcam, PRESS it. does the cam see it, can it see a LED rear light. then you are almost there.
POST your findings, HELP others in here - be the first, to go where FT-software has not gone before.

Thanks Blind-
Well I tried them both with just a TV remote....
XPS m1730 Laptop: I select USB Video from the camera drop-down. As soon as I click the "Start" button, FT crashes (Error dialog stating FT has encountered an error and has to close).
Dell 22" WS Monitor with built-in cam (different PC): I select USB Video from the drop down, click Start, and the computer just locks up. I can't even Ctl-Alt-Del out.
So I guess the Dell cameras (built by MS) are out. I plugged in an ancient Logitech V1000 and at least got IR response, although the red spot was huge and the head guy was choppy (low FPS?).
