Hello
I´ve been using FreeTrack with regular 30fps webcams for a quite while now, I always heard about the benefits of using Wiimote and PsEye. I had a wiimote laying around and tried to give it a test. Long story short, BlueSoleil/Toshiba Stack works fine, it detects my wiimote, no problems. But when I open up FreeTrack and change de combo box from 'Demo Video' to 'Wii Remote #1' the Start buttons gets disabled (grey). I have searched all web and stuff but I cant get it to work. Ps. I already uninstalled and installed everything over and over again.. but the start button never gets enabled for me in free track. I really appreciate some help in this issue. Thanks guys |

Hi dtr,
could it be that your bluetooth device is not compatible with freetrack? I think it is also strange, you see your Wii in Freetrack but you can't use it. Dit you try the application "windows enabler"? Are you sure you don't have problems with any administrator rights What using a wii concerns, I think ther are more cons then pros. For the PsEye I don't know, I never tried it(yet). The "no cpu usage"I think doesn't matter anymore because the cpu's are so much faster/better then in 2008(latest version of freetrack) See for yourself the pros and cons Pros (+) High frame rate, 100fps. No CPU usage. Already configured for infrared tracking (>850nm). Cons (-) Beware of imitations which are difficult to visually identify and only track two points. Genuine Nintendo Wii Remotes track four points and at least three are required for 6DOF. Low 128x96 resolution but does good interpolation at lower threshold levels. Bluetooth doesn't permanently pair and requires manual reconnection. Have to deal with batteries unless using a USB charger. Bluetooth adds a very small latency. No mounting clip, improvised mount examples. Infrared-pass filter incompatible with TrackClip Pro LEDs (850nm) and visible LEDs. I tried also once the wii-remote but it was not a succes, problems loosing connection, empty batterries..That's why I went back to use a webcam(ms vx3000). And.. I personal didn't see that the wii-remote was any better ten my webcam. Greetz Stormrider

Thanks for the reply stormrider. I ended up buying the PsEye, although I did´t have much time to test it yet, but the preliminary tests I´ve done worked out pretty good!
Thanks |
