Hello there.

I bought myself 3 IR Leds and want to build the 3-Point-Cap Model.

Now i soldered 3 LEDs parallel with a REsistor on the + Part like shown in the Threat http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=1856&page=1

I choosed the USB Power Adatpor and bought one on Conrad Electronics. Then i cut of a USB Cable from Gamecontroller that i dont use anymore and tryed to make them lit but they just dont light up. I tested the TV with my Camera and it shows the IR fine. (i use Handycam but it shows IR Light well).

Im Using a 6.8Ohm Resistor for brighter lights.

So what is the Problem? Power Source?

I use the Right LEDs and the right Resistor.

Did a Test with just 1 LED and it didnt work either

Maybe someone can check if im using the right Resistor and LED and Power Adaptor? Maybe i bought something wrong. I used 6.8Ohm Resistor with 5%

I think my fault is the Resistor right?

Reading out the Coulor Code its 1Mega Ohm?

On your photo I see these colors:

Brown - Black - Blue - <no 4th color> = 10 MOhm (+- 20%)

check here : http://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/resistorcalculator.php

or if you have a android smartphone or tablet download the best App for electronics on Android market: ElectroDroid (its free!)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.demi.elettronica&feature=search_result#?t=W10.

So replace your resistor!

So the Resistor is definatly the Problem? Adaptor and other things fine?

You need this one:
6.8 Ohm

You can take the same code "409618" for other country's (fr, be, etc).

Okay.

I got my VX3000 Webcam.

Took one of the New Resistors with 10Ohm and 1 LED. Solded all together and voila! it shows bright IR Light on the Webcam in Darken Room.

But here is the Problem:
When i sold 2 or 3 LED together and Test it with Webcam i can see nothing.

Tested every LED of the 3LEDS alone like mentioned above and they all work fine if they are solded with Resistor alone. It took the Right Pole on all 3 of them but i cant see nothing.

Why?

I havent allrdy removed the IR Lens because there was a Bright LED Light even with IR Filter on!

Someone plz help me! I want it going!

1 IR Led looks the Same like with TV-Controller. Even a tad brighter. With 2 or more LEDS solded together i see absolutly nothing :)

1 LED, as you see lights bright

Here the Resistor. It says Brown, Black,Black,Gold. So the Resistor is the Right one? It got 1/2W not 1/4W but that shouldnt be the Problem right?

I tried 3 LEDs without Resistor and it still didnt work.

Maybe i solded them wrong?

I put (resistor first) + Cable on + on LED#1 then a Cable on -LED#1 to +LED#2 then -LED#2 to +LED#3 then -LED#3Cable to USB Poweradater

Or am i doing something wrong?

And i did not have the IR-Filter of the VX3000 removed and it shows the IR Light on 1 IR-LED.

Do i have to do it? Or should they show?

When i pack a 3,5DIsk layer infront of the Lens i cant see anything. No TV-Remote or IR Led.

Maybe the Filter is the problem?

I dont want to destroy the CAM bevor this is working.

Or is this the Problem?

Now the Lit up! I found the Error. Soldered wrong on 1 LED.

Now i want to setup with IL2-COD. Just setting up the Freetrack Software. Cant see the Skull so far but working on it.

Now i made it all Green and Go in the Free-Track Software. But how to start it in IL2 COD? Or any other Game?

And another Problem Occurs. Look at this Pic:

Posted Image

Problem is:

1. When i look straight at the Screen (with VX3000 above it) the Leds are shown as in the Pic. No matter how i turn the Cam the Upper LED always looks closer to the Right one on Screen but when i look at my CAP the LED seems to be well centered

2. When i center the Cam and then turn my Head and get back straight looking onto Screen its hard to put the Skull exactly on Center again. Only pressing center does the Job them. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?
