I want to start discussion about IR filters.

Did anyone have some experiences with IR Filters used by cammeras which you can buy it on e-buy or amazon like this one for example.

There is some questions I will like to point out.

Compare quality of this filters with DIY solutions made from exposed films or floppy.

Share your experience with rest of community.

Focus on some technical details like which specification of the filter is best in what conditions. For example is it better to use 720nm or 850nm strength?

We need such informations to possibly avoid need for removing IR filter from camera.

Thanks.

Maybe such filter will be better solution for webcam with low resistance on IR like PS3 Eye.

Well, look on my answer in this thread.

I think there is some confusion about utilisation of ir-cut-off-filters on webcams.
If you work with ir-LEDs no matter if 750nm or 850nm, you need to put off the ir-cut-off-filter from webcam as normaly they start up from 700nm, if you want to conserve the full light intensity.
If it works yet, it's because off weakness from this in-build filters.

Ir-pass-filters for cameras are usually quit expensive, as they do have to possess good optical quality. This is not necessary for tracking. There are good solutions with developed film or multiple coloured film layers that works fine.
