Hello,

I've been using the PS3 eye in free track with mixed results. Firstly the good:

- fantastic FPS (always 75 or more) at 640x480 resolution, zero jitter.
- beautifully smooth and responsive tracking

and then the bad

- frequently hangs. Sometimes fixing requires reloading free track, sometimes it locks the computer solid (hard reboot).

I am using

- Freetrack v2.2.0.279
- Latest CL-eye driver (4.0.2.1005)
- Slaver1's free track patch.
- Windows Vista 32bit

Been mostly using free track in LOMAC and Falcon4AF. In LOMAC it generally works for a while but then stops tracking and hangs free track. Falcon4AF seems to always hang free track as soon as it is started.

I also get quite a lot of ntdll errors, although these don't seem to cause any real problems.

If anyone has any ideas/suggestions then I'd really love to hear them :)

Cheers

Tomsk

After some investigation seems the problem with Falcon4AF is a general 2.2.0 problem, not specific to the ps3eye. Falcon4AF doesn't seem to work with 2.2.0.279 at all. LOMAC is a genuine PS3 eye issue though, don't get the same problems with another camera ...

After having not much luck at all with 2.2.0 I've reverted back to using 2.1.0 which works okay. In version 2.1.0 the PS3Eye only runs at 30 fps, but it does run very nicely at 30fps and so is as good as any other camera.

Hopefully one day newer builds of FreeTrack will work a little bit better, and will include full PS3Eye support. From what limited time I got in LOMAC with 2.2.0 it looks like the PS3Eye will one day be the definitive camera for FreeTrack. 75 FPS at 640x480 was a marvel to behold. At the moment though I will be contented with my 30 FPS :)
