Off line Www

Morning all
I have just changed to a Win7pro, AMD machine and the old reliable Logitech got told it was too old to do the job anymore.
Enter the Lifecam VX 1000.
Destroyed the first one by mistaking the sensor lens for the IR filter (ok, so I'm a Kiwi)  before I noticed the IR filter was attached to the back of the lens.  Eventually got Lifecam number 2 up and running. It's only money.

Problem; the leds on my cap are showing up really big which causes the movement in FS9 to be extreme to say the least.
I have focused the camera, minimized the exposure, lowered the brightness, and all the usual stuff.

Problem; The camera seems to take over FS9's screen sizing and causes the Virtual Cockpit to be about 1.4 in size - ie, I'm staring at a gauge that takes up most of the screen and it won't decrease when I push the minus key.
It's sort of like the z depth has a mind of it's own.
I have checked the VX's setup to make sure it hasn't come equipped with some face tracking gear that zooms in on me. It doesn't seem to.

Problem; I am using 2.12.214 version of Freetrack, and I have a spare 2.1.1 version at the ready.

Grateful for any advice.

I am newer than new to all this, but poking a look at the software (version 2.2.0.279) under the profile tab, click the sub-tab for advanced and see what the zoom smoothing multiplier is set at. Maybe that it off?
