Class : Apprenti Posts : 2 Registered on : 16/08/2010 Off line	Hello to everyone, I have a big problem with FreeTrack 2.2 under Windows 7. The framerate is horrible, no matter the settings I've tried (exposition, gain, image compression RGB/I420, resolution etc.) nothing helps and I can't get above 5 fps. It's the same setup I've used before, just a couple of months ago, on Windows XP64 - Logitech E1000 and a three-point hat mounted LED. The camera's IR filter has been removed and a black sheet from a floppy disk added to block the light. On XP64 I had an average of ~25fps (camera rated for 30) and everything was green, occasionally red. Now I get 5fps, regardless of settings. The camera doesn't even seem to be taxing the CPU to full capacity (Phenom II x3 720BE, should be able to handle it), so I don't know what's wrong. Tried tweaking settings from camera software too, no luck - framerate is still horribly low. Anyone, please help!

Class : Habitué Posts : 84 Registered on : 13/01/2010 Off line	I don't know what's exactly the problem, but you could try... ...to update motherboard drivers. Once in the time there were problems with AMD and SIS chipsets and USB2.0 ports. Also, if you have changed USB port to which camera used to be connected, try to plug it back in old port. If you have some bandwidth demanded USB device on same USB Hub it could be cause of problems too (say, external HDD or smth like that...) ... to unplug-plug camera while in windows ... to try to uninstall camera's drivers and software and then install only camera's drivers

Class : Apprenti Posts : 2 Registered on : 16/08/2010 Off line	No luck, I tried everything - switching USB ports, clean drivers etc. Motherboard is up to date, too. I'm wondering if it's an inherent bug of the E1000s Windows 7 drivers? FPS is around 5 regardless of any settings. Does anyone else have that camera and a Win 7 OS? I'm going to try the camera and freetrack on my XP32 HTPC, if it works properly, I guess I'll have to revert to an older OS... eh... EDIT: Confirmed, just installed FreeTrack 2.0.279 on my HTPC, which has a far weaker dual-core - very quick settings, just to see if camera works, I get steady 27-28fps, 0 to 1 jitters. I guess it's a faulty Logitech Windows 7 driver... EDIT2: Found the problem, nothing to do with the camera or FreeTrack - Windows 7 doesn't work properly with AMD's Cool&Quiet feature and FreeTrack doesn't task the CPU enough for C&Q to enable processing power (it's essentially staying donwthrottled to 800mhz). I noticed this was also the cause of the Windows clock lagging... Edited by Burdokva on 17/08/2010 at 12h45.
