Hello community,

I'm completely new to IR tracking and have my first question. I built a 4-infrared-led cap, installed FreeTrack, copied TIRViews.dll into the FreeTrack directory and activated both output interface options in the program.

Now I wanted to test it with OpenFalcon and FreeFalcon but neither of them react in the 3d cockpit view to my movements. I activated the options in the game too, tried to activate 6DOF with the F4Patch for OpenFalcon but nothing helped! I even tried to use another version of TIRViews.dll (one is version 1.2.0.0 with 243712 bytes, the other 3.2.37.0 with 109568 bytes). I even tried to rename FreeTrack.exe to TrackIR.exe. What's the problem? Did I forget something?

PS: cam runs with stable 25 fps, I420 and 320x240. Also does not even freeze when I start a game (the preview still works after returning to desktop). My system is Windows XP (32 bit), ATI graphics.

Please help me :(

First I tried 4.7, then I uninstalled everything and installed version 4.5 only.

Try changing the RGB setting to i420 in the free-track streaming settings.

Hey, thank you rjg24! I indeed have a HOTAS (Saitek X45) but I didn't plugged it in. I wanted to set up Free Track first. Now it's working fine. :)

But what happens to games, that do not support joysticks but gaming wheels or nothing at all? Won't Free Track work then? (just for the future)

Sorry for my poor english lol

Mine's too ;D

Well i think the problem is in Falcon 4.0 code not freetrack so other games should work well without any pluged in devices...

Have a nice flying in Falcon (I love that sim lol FF5 rox)
