Sorry for the newb question, but i've been having some issues when trying to mount a on/off switch and i was wondering is there is something special that has to be done.
The problem is that the battery starts to get really hot when the i turn the switch off. I've used two different kind of switches(though they were almost the same spec) and both times it happened.
Even in the last switch i mounted the settings were backwards(On was off and Off was On).
I know this should be a very basic problem, but honestly i know close to nothing about electricity and was wondering if anyone could shed some light.
Thanks.
Oh and to add, if i connect the set up directly to the battery pack everything runs fine. Even after long periods of playing and testings i see no problem when using the clip without the Switch. However my fingers are almost bleeding because of having to connect and disconnect the battery directly.

Something is wrong connected.
You should put switch on just one wire (cut 1 wire and put one end on one contact and other end on other contact of the switch).
It seems that you had connected both wires and turning switch on/off shortened battery.
