Hi, I have a problem which I can't seem to fix by modifying my hardware.
I have a 3-point hat tracking, which works fine for all translations and rotations, but the one in Z. Whenever I move my head forward to zoom in or backward to zoom out, FT translates it into x,y,z movement even though 3 dots on the camera view are moving centrally forward (size increases). I tried everything to no avail. Does anyone have any clue what it could be? I'm starting to think that it's a problem with the FT itself. This video shows the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlvuxEVjjl8 Thanks in advance. Cheers |

Hi galatei,
Are you sure that you selected the correct model and entered the correct dimensions of your model as well? Sandor |

Hi, thanks for quick reply.
Yes, I "tuple" checked that, and also I was modifying my hardware to make it wider, or narrower and higher, etc, to no avail. It's happening all the time. I'm sitting centrally against my LCD with camera slightly above my head, placed centrally on top of the lcd, and I have my 3pt cap stuff mounted on top of my headset, which is few centimeters above the line of the camera. I tried so many different things but nothing seems to have any impact on this. And, what's even more strange is the fact that I have to move almost all the way right to correct the X translation. Top view: CAMERA -> @ LCD -> =============== SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE ME -> [[[[[[[]]]]]]]]] Left view: __* <top led @ cam / < 3pt CAP model [] * < bottom leds [] [] <lcd [] [] ============= Hope this helps a bit. Thanks in advance. |

That is odd.
If I understand you correctly, when you sit in front of the screen in your centered position, the red dots in the camera view are nicely centered as well, right? If this is the case and your model/dimensions are correct, then the only thing I can think of is if you actually pressed the "center" button while you were sitting in centered position? Sorry if that sounds offending but you know these things can happen Sandor |

Hi, thanks for your reply, sorry fordelay I was a bit off lately.
Yes, I'm sitting exactly in front of my screen and three red dots are centered as well. I tried many combinations, and the result is always the same. Are you saying that I shouldn't be pressing center while I'm in central position ? I thought that center is just for that, to re-center. Physical dimensions of my model are, (maybe my model is crap, I may need to re-do it): Side: 70 horiz, 65 vert Front: 100 Cheers |

The model dimensions should be okay i guess, and you are correct about the use of the center button. I'm out of ideas I'm afraid.
Maybe someone more experienced can help? |

I galatei, I've the SAME of your problem about Zoom In-Zoom Out for up & down sight issue (not the "x traslation" issue on left-right however..). I think It's a limit of the software of FreeTrack or may be a test to try to lower the camera position a bit ?..
