Hello,
I bought the Trust WB-1400T to use with free track, however, I'm having a lot of problems with FPS. Whatever I do I can't get more than 11 FPS as shown in the Free Track preview screen.
I have tried:
- turning off auto exposure and reducing exposure to zero.
- enabling outdoor mode
- using I420 compression
I've tried with both the driver on the CD that came with the webcam, and the latest drivers downloaded from Trust's website.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing the low frame rate? Is there a particular driver one needs to use with the 1400T in order to achieve a good frame rate?

I tried to remove the IR filter, but didn't manage to do. Is it removable, or is it stuck onto the lens?
Had quite a bit of trouble trying to put the camera back together, thought I'd wrecked it, but turns out the lens had just gone out of alignment.
I did find a driver that improves the FPS to around 20, however it vastly increases the jitter. So much so that the 11 fps I was getting with 2-3 jitter was actually much more usable.

Finally worked out that you can remove the IR filter by smashing it with a screwdriver + hammer. Camera worked a bit better after that, easier to tune it to find the IR leds.
I haven't been able to get it to work in FT 2.2, only 2.1. In 2.2 the camera properties window always appears empty. Since the camera seems to reset all settings to zero on startup without the camera properties window it's not possible to set the camera settings to pickup the IR leds.
All in all I can't recommend people use the Trust WB-1400T with Free Track, it is very cheap and easily available (in the UK at least) but it's very hard to get it to work effectively. Building my model only took about 3 hours, getting the camera to work has taken about 3 days.
Another big disadvantage of the Trust is that is has a very restricted field of view. This is okay if you can set the camera a long way back, but if your only option is to perch it on your monitor you'll probably be disappointed with the results.
