Hey everyone,

So I've gotten everything working!   I love this system. Found a webcam at a goodwill resale store for $1.  With the resistors, LED's and other misc. items, I spent $8.40   That's just friggin fantastic!   Thank you free-track

Ok, so here's what I've got going on.  My monitors are wall mounted so my eye level is center screen. So, my webcam either has to sit atop the monitors - about 10" above my head height - or below the monitor - about 6" below head height.

Is there a way to adjust the free-track system to account for this angle of attack, so that when I'm moving forward and back on the Z axis, that the view doesn't taper up or down the Y axis?

If that doesn't make sense, let me put it another way.  Because the camera isn't directly in front of my face - it's below, for example. When I move my head forward, the movement on screen will be forward and upwards, because the camera isn't straight on, it assumes my head is moving upwards along the Y axis as well.

Let me know.

Thanks,

~S

Another option is to postition the camera to the side of the monitor at the desired height.  Might work better if you have a 3 point clip attached to that side of your head.

That would work great, except I have 3 monitors...  lol  :D

So the side of the monitors would be the side of my head.  But I like where your... head's at!  lol

So no one knows about any settings or adjustments that can be made to modify the angle of orientation in the free-track software?

I'll quote help file. It's talking about 'Cam' tab:

Orientation
Often the camera is positioned on top of a monitor and pitched down at an angle towards the head position; without accounting for the pitch angle, forward-back movement can cause some vertical movement and vice versa. To address this, the orientation of the camera can be accounted for so that the direction of virtual head translation corresponds with reality.

Yaw: Positive anti-clockwise looking down from above

Pitch: Positive up.

Roll: Positive clockwise looking at camera.
