Class : Apprenti Posts : 1 Registered on : 26/03/2009 Off line	Im very new to this...so far my 2 webcams i use for normal have ir filter coated,can this be removed.?..or I have a ps2 eyetoy...i understand this will work but does it also need ir filter removed.?..how is this done on eyetoy. thanks

Class : Apprenti Posts : 4 Registered on : 06/05/2009 Off line	I'm using my camera with the IR filter still in place, but 2 pieces of exposed camera film negative over the lens. With IR LED's, it works perfectly. However, I have a frame-rate issue. On my slow old PC I get a good 30fps, but on my new dual core machine I only get 15fps. The camera is great for FreeTrack though, in my experience. Rob in Oz.

Class : Apprenti Posts : 9 Registered on : 15/04/2009 Off line	Every now and again, I was getting 12 fps with my PS2 Eyetoy. This happened after I selected and de-selected auto exposure.(there seems to be a problem with the Logitech drivers). Anyway, I found a fix that worked for me. Keep Freetrack running but stop the camera. Unplug the Eyetoy from the PC, then plug it back in. Wat 1-2 seconds, then select another camera source from the Freetrack list. Lastly re-select the Eyetoy, then restart the camera. This worked for me. Hope it helps you. I am running a dual core Athlon. Incidentally, I couldn't find any camera film, and a floppy disc is too strong with the IR filter in place. As a result, I could only use my beloved Freetrack at night when all my computer room lights were out. But I had an ephiphany. I fitted a lense from a pair of sunglasses over the lense of the Eyetoy. It now sees my IR LED's perfect even with the light on My Eyetoy now looks very cool. Allbeit a Cyclops... But a cool one Long live Freetrack. Edited by blueeagle69 on 09/05/2009 at 03h37.

Class : Apprenti Posts : 4 Registered on : 06/05/2009 Off line	On my EyeToy camera, I cut two little squares of exposed colour camera film, then trimmed the corners of each with a little chamfer. These pieces then clip into the lens housing with a little 'snap' and stay in there permanently. It looks like a factory-fit, and works superbly. 50mA to my filed down then polished LED's, and I can use this thing in broad daylight.
