I have built a 3 point cap model and I have an ICatch Web Cam. I used 5mm Wide Angle Red LED's from Radio Shack. The Web Cam seems to see more than 3 points. There seems to be some sort of reflection feedback or something. Any Ideas what I should do?

Hi!
Do you see more than three bright spots, or just a lot of background noise? In any case I suggest that you try fiddling around with the camera settings:
Exposure down
Contrast up
Brightness down
And adjust the threshold slider back and forth.

It seems to be more like a inverse/reverse reflection of the three points for a total of 6 points of light. I have tried fiddling with the camera settings as you mentioned but without satifactory results. I am going to try a different camera next. Thank you for your response.

Hi,
I had a same problem. After I disabled auto exposure, extra points disappeared.

Might be the reflections of the "bulb" (round thingy) on the leds. Filing them down a little helped for me. You could also try setting your webcam out-of-focus more ... so they appear as 1 big blob ;-) That does effect tracking somewhat though, but it's deffinatly worth a try
If they don't appear near (almost next to) your leds, it might be a reflection from somewhere.
