Class : Apprenti Posts : 13 Registered on : 07/12/2008 Off line	Hi guys, I'm fairly new into this, not so good in electronics although I'm very keen on electrical stuff. I'd like to create a 3 point clip system as it looks more neat to me and compact and I have several question on this project.. About the size of the clip, can I adjust to whichever length I like as long as it follows the specification? I have a concern here, the wiring connectivity for the 3 LEDs and the resistor. For example, 3 black wires from each of the LED connected to the main black wire from the battery at one point. LED ---black wire + resistor---> \|----------- LED ---black wire + resistor---> \|-----> positive side Battery \|----------- LED ---black wire + resistor---> And the same goes to the red wire without resistor to negative side of the battery. Finally, someone please help me confirm whether this is the correct IR LED http://my.farnell.com/osram/sfh485p/ir-emitter-5mm-880nm/dp/1212738 Thank you very much!

Class : Apprenti Posts : 4 Registered on : 30/10/2008 Off line	Your wiring looks correct for this setup. Positive voltage should be flowing to all 3 resistors and the anode(+) side of the IR Led(that's the small metal piece). Negative voltage is supplied to each cathode(-). I've had good results with RadioShack's high output 940nm IR Leds. Three 60 ohm 1/4 watt resistors, and 2 AA recharcheable batteries for 3 point hat setup. Using modified MS VX1000 webcam and Freetrack 2.2 On my Intel 8400 PC I only average 20fps but it's very smooth and works great on IL-1946. goodluck!

Class : Apprenti Posts : 13 Registered on : 07/12/2008 Off line	I hope I could get 30fps on this one and at the same time do not wish to mod my expensive Logitech Pro 9000 lol, so hopefully with 60mA(probably 65mA is it possible?) it could penetrate the IR filter in my cam. Somehow I'm not so sure which resistor I should get in the Farnell website because it seemed a bit overwhelming to me, there are so many different types of resistors and specifications out there. Would you mind helping me look for the required resistor? Any help would be much appreciated. Below is my calculated LED assembly
