Okay

This beats a webcam (any webcam) hands down!!!!!!

Here is what Im using and it works perfectly at 103FPS and almost ZERO CPU usage.

Bluetooth  http://www.iogear.com/product/GBU321/    $24.95 USD

It comes with Widcomm 5.1.0.3300 stack

On some Wiimotes the A & B button to link does not work

The newer Wiimotes you have to hold the 1 & 2 buttons down to link

The IR LEDs I used are Siemens LD271

I haven't filed the round ends flat, because i'm not quite sure how to do this.

but...

It works so well like it is now, I'm not sure I really need to do this.

Everything works like a champ

All

I just tested Bluesoleil Ver 6.2.227.11 with the above listed setup and it seems to work as well.

It seems to connect to FreeTrack a little easier but other then that no real difference.

I hope this info helps someone

sorry about my question, but I can't find anything that tell me if WII remote is working fine with freetrak or not.
Some time ago I read everywhere that XP drivers weren't so good so WII worked as Pointing device only. I have waited until now for more axis support and reading Freetrak site in this days it seems that the time is arrived. But anyway I can't fint nobody telling that WII is working with all axis or some of them onto XP. I  would like to use it with IL2 and ARMA and waited for WII support rather then make the webcam hardware version. Can anyone write something about How WII is working or tell me some links where I will find these informations?

thanks in advance

I have just installed a belkin usb bluetooth dongle and have high fps but also very high Jitter. Is their any wqy to decrease the jitter when using the wii remote?
Also can anyone reccomend the best distance measurments for the 3 point cap when using the wii remote?, as i am finding everything very sensative.

hi hank,
reading your post it seems to me that Wii doesn't work as pointment device because you wrote about what is the best distance for a 3 point cap when used with wii...so why do you need a 3 point cap using freetrack and wii? what does wii do with freetrack?  I hoped wii would work in place of the xpoint cap...was I wrong about it?

Hi desigabri

The wii remote works fine, you use it in place of the webcam. I have jitter in the 40's with mine but it does not cause any problems in head tracking.

hi,
ok it works in the place of the webcam (you saw), but I need xpoint cap else?!

I thought It worked byitself trasmitting acceleration information. At this point a webcam is cheaper then the wii controller.plus a bluetooth device...

Am i correct in saying that you need to select Track ir interface instead of Freetrack interface?
Are the 3pt cap default measurments in the manual good for using with the wii remote?
I am having dificulty setting mine up (too sensitive)
Happy simming

You should use the measurments in the FAQ ( http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=413 ). About the sensitivity, work on the sliders in the global tab.

Yeah, you still need a  3 Point Cap or Clip on your head. Thee wiimote is just a high performance webcam (around 100 FPS !).
