I have a logitec STX webcam. I've removed the IR filter and plan on using a floppy disc as my visible light filter. Can I just cut it to shape and mound it in the "frame" from which I removed the IR filter? Do I need to do anything special to it or do I just cut it out of an unformatted disc? I was also wondering if I can use the IR emitters from a TV remote? If not, it's no big deal. I would also like to use USB power to run the IR emitters. Is anyone doing this and can you tell me which LED's to buy? I plan on doing a 3 LED setup attached to my mic.
Thanks for your help.

The camera's fully modded for IR (Logitech STX communicate). I've downloaded and installed the FreeTrack software then setup the camera for 28FPS. I even verified functionality with a TV remote(very cool). I have to go pick up a resistor tonight. I purchased some IR LEDs and sanded them flat. Which brings me to a couple of questions. First my LED choice. I got them at the local Radio Shack. The specs are: Absolute maximum rating (25 deg C)
Foward voltage (20ma) 1.6v
Reverse voltage 5v
Reverse current 10uA
Wavelength 940nm
Electrical characteristics:
Radiant power output (100ma) 16mW min.
Foward voltage 1.2v
Foward current 100mA
Viewing angle to 1/2 intensity 45deg.
Do you see anything in the specs that would make this LED a bad choice?
I've sanded the LEDs ending with a 2000 grit sandpaper. should I polish them up? I thought I read to leave them with a matt finish.
