I Have recently built a 3 point cap with a set of IR leds and its works perfectly. The webcam I use is a Logitech Quickcam express (the new ones) with the IR filter removed and two layers of magnetic disk from a floppy disc in front of the lens. Freetrack has been working pretty well up to this point, except a few crashes. My problem that started recently is that when I look fully to the right, the view jumps to looking downward. All three markers are clearly visable with no interference, however this issue is slightly annoying. Anyone have any ideas of how to resolve this? Additionally I use the game primarily for Il2, and would like a profile for it.

Regards Jediteo

I am wondering about the two layers of magnetic disk?  I read the old tutorials that said to use two layers of exposed film, then I read about using one layer of magnetic disk, but now, I keep reading of users using two layers.  Is that an "official" recomandation now?

I'm having the same problem as jediteo. Mine seems to run fine for a while then just gets locked looking at the back of my seat in il2. re-centering will not work, freetrack needs to be restarted to resolve this and it rapidly occurs again.

Same here. It appears the camera loses view of the LED's. This happens sometimes when the lighting in the room changes. Also if I adjust the threshold to low at this time, freetrack just aborts and closes its self.

Has anyone figured this out yet?  I have the same issue. I works fine for a while and then it locks-up. This usually occurs when I look down. I have all green dots through the entire movement, then it goes crazy, locks up and I have to restart.

Was using 3 point clip set up with no issue's. Recently made 3 point cap, and this locked view has occurred each time 3 point cap set up is used. Only FreeT. locks view if I turn head to the right for a few seconds. Turning to the left to the same degree dose not cause this problem. Frustrating with a bandit on your six

This happened to me a couple of times flying OF.  It's usually due to the cam losing site of your LED's.  Even if it's just one of them and it's always the one far to the direction you're turning.  I just learned where my limits are and how far I can turn before the cam looses site of one of my LED's.  Also, make sure your LED's are sanded down flat real good.  This gives the light a bigger exposure.  It also could be caused by another light source when you turn your head.

Can't be an LED issue, I'm watching the output and it just jumps there for no reason, some kind of bug looking that one way...
