The track.net/index.php?showtopic=413">Hardware FAQ shows one set of dimensions, while the track.net/fichiers/manuel21en.pdf">Freetrack manual shows a different one.  Both the FAQ and the manual appear to have been authored in late 2007, but Im just wondering which one is better, if either?  Which plan did you follow, if any?  Do you just have to arrange the LEDs assymetrically and thats it?

Im sure Im not the first one to notice this discrepency, so does no one know the answer?  I suppose Ill experiment to find the best proportions so at least somebody can answer this question for the next person.

I'm guessing in this case bigger is better.

The closer the lights are together,  the smaller your head movements have to be.

If you look in Freetrack the default values for a 3-point clip are different from your drawing.....

use:
   30
      60
      80
80

Edit: these default values are from Freetrack 2.2.0.267 (oct. 2008)

It's almost like the 2nd picture except for the horizontal distance of the upper led.

So thats 3 different set of proportions to randomly choose from haha, and all from official sources.  It looks like Ill be better off winging it.  Thanks for the replies :)

EDIT:  Actually after looking at FreeTrack v2.2.0.279, the default values are (from top to bottom) 30 40 70 80, just like my diagram on the left.

If you look at the real Track-Ir pro clip..... and put gridlines over the picture, dimensions must be:

  25
      40
      70
 80

edit: 20-feb-2010
here's a new picture (sizes look different from sizes above, but it's a scaling problem)
   28
       45
       75
88

If you can't make such a clip, trackir/02-products/product-TrackClip-PRO.html">just buy it for $35, it is usb powered! I think this will work good with freetrack, but maybe it is power controlled by the real Track-IR software?

Who can confirm that it is working?
