OK, I had a look in to this and it seems that in the Optitrack SDK 1.1.034 the driver had disabled all TrackIR devices and just left support for the SmartNav and Optitrack devises.
In Optitrack 1.3.035 SDK the drivers now had enabled the TrackIR devises again with the exception of TrackIR2. However, regardless of version it is very easy to re enable the support as you can simply text edit the npusbio.inf in the %ProgramFiles%\Naturalpoint\OptiTrack\Drivers folder. Look for the section [_Models] and uncomment all entries by removing the initial ; Repeat the procedure for all "; device description" further down in the file. Procedure is the following. 1 unplugg TrackIR 2 Uninstall TRackIR software. 3 clean registry from anything "TrackIR" and "Naturalpoint" 4 install OptiTrack SDK 5 Edit %ProgramFiles%\Naturalpoint\OptiTrack\Drivers\npusbio.inf 6 insert TrackIR, if it dont find the correct driver automatically then go back in the driver install dialog and manually point to the above file. I got my TrackIR2 now recognized as a natural point TRackIR2 device under "Natural Point Devices" The bad thing for me is that FreeTrack still don't display any option for it under the camera drop down. Maybe someone else has more luck with it? Or perhaps Nicolas Camil can comment on how it is supposed to work? Best regards //Harry "deBug" Zachrisson |

Well that explains it! I which that would be communicated in some way so KeyCat and I didn't have to spend hours trying to figure it out Well, well. I understand you all put in your free time for this project and give it away for free so I'm grateful for all you have done. Freetrack is an awesome piece of software, I'm an old Delphi developer and I had a look at the source the other day. I was impressed. There is lots more there going on and lots more support code for Cameras, Direct Input etc. than one can imagine. To bad with the TRackIR camera support though, it's a good camera Best regards and Thank you all for your hard work. And thanks for the info Rémy. //Harry "deBug"

I'm sorry; I hadn't noticed you were trying ot get it working...
It's on the website frontpage : track.net/english/">http://www.free-track.net/english/ but I know not so many people go back on the website once they've downloaded FreeTrack, they prefer the forum, it's more living (and that's true). Sorry again, enjoy freetrack anyway ! Rémy |
